A measurement of a package’s density is its volumetric weight. This, sometimes known as dimensional weight, is used by couriers and shipping companies to determine how much to charge for a shipment. The actual weight and volumetric weight of the package will be utilised to calculate the shipping cost.
Shippers may therefore lower the cost of consignments as a result. If the true weight is charged, a shipment of bulky but lightweight goods can become unmanageable.
The final volumetric weight for your package will be influenced by the shipping service used and this range shows the top and bottom values for the dimensions entered. The weight calculation used can be clarified by the Service Centre during the estimate process.
